I would like to teach my kids a foreign language. They have learned a lot already just from watching Dora the Explorer on TV. I would love to learn more too. Can anyone recommend a program to teach them at home that is not too expensive? DVDs, computer software, workbooks, etc. Does anyone know what kind of resources the library has for kids?
Thanks!
Hi Kim,
I'm a Spanish teacher/native speaker and teach 3 year olds to adults.
There's a lot you can do at home to help your little ones out so they can start picking up a FL...well I could help in Spanish but not in other foreign languages LOL
The hardest part for parents is the pronunciation and consistency, unless their pretty familiar with the language. I strongly recommend teaching yourself as you go so that in turn your kids will always be able to use it at home. For kids to acquire another language it takes a LOT of consistrncy but once they start to use the language...it's AMAZING! =)
I've seen HOOKED ON SPANISH in several teacher supply stores. It looks pretty good (I haven't tested it out for myself though). I've also tried Professor Toto wich is also O.K but I don't love it.
If you'd like to email me I can go ooooon and ooooon about what you can do at home LOL (I LOVE talking about and giving tips!!) [email protected]
GL!
