Seeking Daycare/Pre-School recommendation in McKinney

I am just starting my search for daycare/pre-school in McKinney. My daughter is 20 months old and currently in an in-home environment. I love where she is currently, she is already learning her alphabet, knows all her colors etc. But, she is the oldest and isn't currently getting the social interaction with toddlers her age that I think she needs. I've discussed with our care provider and we both agree that she probably needs to move into an environment where she gets it spend time with more kids around her age. Our goal is to try and find somewhere we are comfortable with by the time she turns two. I have a tour set up with Daffodils in September, will be looking at Primrose of Stone Brooke, Merryhill and the new Children's Courtyard. Does anyone have any recommendations or places that we should definately avoid. I'm anxious at the thought of moving her into a center environment as I love the personal attention she receives at the moment. But, I know it's probably for the best.

I have taught in McKinney ISD for the last 5 years and recommend the preschool/school at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Virginia. The school is called Concordia. They are super organized and the entire place has a very calm, efficient feel to it. I believe they have chapel 3 times a week too. When it comes time for kinder though, I am an advocate of MISD public schools!

I've heard great things about Holy Family School, and we plan on sending our DD there when she turns two. However, kids do have to be potty trained in order to go there, so if you're interested in sending her there, you might want to jump on the potty training! GL!

My daughter spent 2 years at Concordia Christian Academy. We loved it!! I also know alot of people who send their kids to First Baptist Mckinney. These are more geared towards MDO. Primrose is excellent but a bit more expensive than some of the other choices in town. I'm familiar with Merryhill from California and it always came highly recommended. CCA does have before and after school care but I think they have a limit on the time if your child is younger than 4. I would definitely take some tours and interview them all! Good luck in your search, Megan

We used the PrimRose of StoneBrook and loved it! Our daughter was older than yours, but was there 2 yrs and we even put our son in the summer program for a few weeks (and he isn't the easy-to-please sort of child!) He loved it as well! They have lots of good programs/activities and I know we enjoyed watching the younger ones during their parades and events! Good luck!

Our family loves Primrose School of Stone Brooke. Since 2006, we have witnessed our children flourish in numerous ways while attending Primrose. The curriculum offered by Primrose is immaculate. Our daughter is currently in the Primrose Explorers program. She graduated from their Private Kindergarten program and now attends school in McKinney ISD. She continues to soar in her academics and is reading above her grade level. Our son is currently in their Private Kindergarten program. Since August, he has demonstrated academic growth. We are certain he will exemplify academic excellence. We are highly impressed with their excitement to attend and participate in the various programs and activities offered by Primrose School of Stone Brooke. We are please with the Primrose staff. The Director, Ms. Ghattas, has been very instrumental in our Primrose experience. It is our belief that she is a core piece in the success of Primrose School of Stone Brooke.
