Peri-menopausal/Menopausal Help

Hi Kandy,
I am right there with you! Here is what I did that really helped, but, was also very hard to start, but in the end, it really did the trick.
1. stop eating, drinking ALL white sugar and high Fructose sugars
2. stop eating ALL white flour and processed flour foods (read your labels)
3. if you haven't yet, START including soy food and drink into your diet!
4. and, consider buying a vaginal lubricant to get you started, (if you don't use it you will loose it as one woman once told me) ha ha : D
I am sure you have heard of or have read about the above. I am telling you it really helps and many of my symptoms of sleep loss have all but gone, and since I have stopped eating or drinking all sugars, I have no hot flashes or dramatic mood swings. And, since I have also stopped eating all the processed flours my weight has gone down quit a lot just by cutting that stuff out of my diet. The first two weeks were the toughest because I think I went through a detox, but you can do it! I look and feel loads better.

Take it easy and good luck.

My sister takes: Natural Progesterone and Black Kohosh.

Black Cohosh phytoestrogen for relief of menopause and PMS symptoms. She tell me that Natural Hormone Replacement will restore your hormonal balance and relieve the discomfort of PMS & menopause symptoms. Visit a Natural Store.
You like all of us moms need our time to unwined, take a hot bath, take time to pray or meditate or read a good book at bedtime....now if someone doesn't want to go sleep before some "action", don't dread it: my advice is have a date, watch a "naughty", but tasteful;) movie.....that's just an idea and I hope it helps!

You're Worth It!

RemiFemin and Soy Isoflavins works great!

Hello Kandy,

You sound like a classic case of hormone imbalance. There are two wonderful doctors in Denton that can help you. Dr. Suzanne Mack, who is a functional medicine doctor. She does all the proper tests and gets to the root of the problem, correcting the actual problem and related issues instead of treating the symptoms only. She prefers supplements and proper diet and exercise to correct hormone imbalance, instead of shoving the "one size fits all" hormone pill at you and calling it quits. Long story short, she saved my life!

Another good Denton doctor is Dr. Linda Yeatts. She also is a functional medicine doctor who's practice is much like Dr. Mack. She is not quite as thorough (or as expensive!), but, she knows what she is doing and I trust her completely. She recently got me through a very severe GI fungal infection that I was sure was going to be the end of me!

Good luck!

Arbonne has a cream product that several ladies I know say works very well. A friend of mine sells Arbonne, if you want her name and number let me know.

Kandy,

The best thing that I found was soy products. I really enjoyed the soy beans fresh or roasted. This helped but did not eleviate the symtoms totally. Best of luck.

There is a all natural cream that you can order on a TV network called Daystar. You can call their phone number, or you can go on their website and order it. They are located in the D/FW area. It is only $20.00 a jar. There is a cream for those who have already been through menopause or they have one for women like you and myself who are going through peri-menopause/menopause. Enjoy!

Wow, lots of good advice. I can only go by what has helped me. I will just say that it's simple and works! Weight loss, hormonal balance and overall imrovement in mood and reduction in cravings? Yeehaw, it is that simple and nature has provided it. I'm 45 and feel (and look) better than before I started this program. I feel like I have my life back and can do anything. I'll email some info. It's based on herbs that other cultures have been using for centuries.

And shall we add the phenomenom of "spaghetti brain" to that? I spent the last 8 months going crazy trying to reduce my stress thinking that was the problem, and when I got things all calm, nothing changed.....UNTIL! I had my hormones checked and found that I basically have stopped making progesterone. Right now, they have me on a vegetable based cream and just started so don't know if it will work. But just knowing what the deal is has been GREAT!!!!!! Janet

Kandy,
Arbonne's natural balancing creams are botanically based and are a natural alternative for harmone imbalance. They come in an airtight metered pump that dispenses the right amount of cream per dose. These creams really help with the problems of menopause. Contact me at [email protected] for a free sample trial if you would like to try these products out.

Hi Kandy-

I am going through the same thing. My doctor put me on Loestrin 24 Fe. I feel like a new person...like I'm 20 again. I have 4 kids, am single, in school full time, etc... totally crazy life. I was against trying hormones because I try to do everything as holistic as possible. My doctor begged me to try it. This all started for me in October. I started taking fish oil capsules and drinking 1 oz of Acai juice a day...to try to help with symptoms and help with low energy. The pills are the lowest dosage of any pill and contain iron as well. I have thyroid issues also and am well aware of how critical balancing hormones can be to sex drive, energy level, etc...This pill has made an instant noticable difference and my sex drive is through the roof. If you decide to drink Acai juice, you can get it at Whole Foods or any health store...there are people trying to sell it online but you don't need to do that...it's on sale at Whole Foods at the moment if you want to try it. I do have other friends in perimenopause that do well on progestrin creams...you can find that at Whole Foods too. Good luck! It's a complicated thing...and I think everyone has their own personal remedies that work.

Hi Kandy,

Last week there was a female doctor on Oprah, and she told a woman who had lost here sex drive to concatrate on herself and start cultivating herself. Get it? That will definitely get the sex drive back and of course you will sleep like a baby. She said it was an over all health boost.

yoga worked for me and that is all i needed

plant estrogens suich as tofu and soy milk will help and chamomile teas will help with the sleep

Hi Kandy,
I had a hysterectomy in 2001 and the doctor put me on hormones which made me break out and gain weight. I since then found a natural herbal hormone replacement. I have no problem with my sleep, sex drive, night sweats or moodiness. If you like to try it, it is New Phase complete and you can buy it at Wak-Mart OTC for about $12.

Hopes this helps

Two really good resources for more information are:

Dr. John Lee

Best wishes! This is a trying period for women, with lots of conflicting information out there. You've gotten some great advice from the mamas, and I encourage you to read on these two websites for more.

Have you tried taking flaxseed? You can get it at the grocery store in capsule form. You can also get it where they sell natural foods. You can use a coffee grinder. It can be sprinkled on anything from spaghetti to cottage cheese. It is said to relieve menopausal symptoms.

Hi Kandy,

You sound just like me only I've been married 30 years & have 3 gwown children. I wish I could help. I am also trying to do it naturally. So far the best thing I have come up with is to drink lots of water & walk outside when it's cold! All joking aside I hope you get lots of good responses!
