Organic Wheat needed

I am a full time mom and use whole wheat flour I grind myself. I would like to take this further and find organic wheat. I am a pastry chef who wants to find an organic wheat distributor who sells in bulk bags 25-50 lbs whole grains, not flour. Does anyone know a source in the east valley that doesn't charge an arm and a leg?

YEAH for grinding your own wheat! I love making whole wheat bread! Anyways, try Chef Brad, he is on the corner of Gilbert and Southern, Southwest corner, facing southern. It is tucked back in a little bit in the strip mall. They have lots of different grains. Good luck!

There is a Food Co-op in the Valley - they have a West & an East Side division - they offer wheatberry bread & other homemade breads & Organic Pressed oils & honey & fruits & Vegetables - but I cant find their Address!!! they have offerings every 2 weeks or so or you can try to Google it - I can forward the address to you when I get an email from them too - thnx! [email protected] :)

I run an organic food co-op, and we will be doing grain soon! People will be able to get 50 pound bags of organic wheat berries. We'll do this once a year I think, so people would need to get enough to last them a year if they want a constant supply.

The up side is since it's a co-op and we are huge you will receive rock bottom pricing and pay what bakeries pay for the grain instead of specialty store prices!

You can sign up on our mailing list at Http://www.BountifulBaskets.org.

Thanks,

LDS members and coops may be able to help. Grain silos are also a good source.

I was able to locate www.chefbrad.com and found his prices to be pretty reasonable and that he has a pretty comprehensive list of grains and legumes as well as amazing classes and books! From one chef to another, Thanks Chef Brad! I looked into the food co-op web site. If the price is right it would be worth buying a years worth of wheat Sounds like a great place for fruits and vegetables in season and a great way to save money! I will be finding out more and probably participate it that as well! Thank you for the wonderful responses!
