New Year's Eve Activities

Hi Moms, I am trying to find something for my family to do on New Year's Eve. I live in the south metro and would like to stay close to home. I have 2 boys, 3.5 years and 18 mos. My 18 mo usually is in bed by 8:00 so we are looking for something earlier in the evening. I would love to hear any suggestions you may have! Thanks!

The only thing I know of is the Mall of America has a celebration, rides, and such at Nickelodeon Universe it's usually crowded like everything else.

I'm staying home with my kiddos I learned a few years back this is just not the evening to be on the road. I bought a bunch of appetizers, we've got movies, nintendo wii and we will be comfy at home where were safe and sound. Then if my 15mo.old get's tired I can easily put her to bed. I'm sure my 8yr.old will be up all night wired on junk and sugar.

Jennifer,

Sorry this is late, but I wanted to let you know for next year. We spent New Year's Eve at Party Bound Inflatable play place in Lakeville. www.partybound.net $6 each got my kids in to play for the whole day and they did have a coupon for one free kid per family. The morning was busy, but we came back in the afternoon and just about had the place to ourselves. They were open until 8pm. It helped my kids get their energy out and we had a lot of fun. I recorded the Time Square ball drop and we are watching it New Year's Day morning with some sparkling cider.

Happy New Year,

Shellie

Hi Jennifer. I know this is late, but something to consider for next year. I had a New Year's eve party at the house with just our family. It was just my husband and I with our girls and we planned our party from 6-8. The day before my daughters and I went to the party store and pick out streamers, hats, blow horns, necklaces, plastic champagne glasses and balloons. Then they went shopping for food with me.

The morning of New Year's eve we decorated the house and made food and planned what games we would play together during our party. I made finger PB & J sandwiches for the girls and other small snacks.

At 6:00 we ate dinner and then played games and took lots of fun pictures. At 8:00 pm, we poured apple juice in our wine glasses, counted down to zero and toasted in the New Year and blew our party horns.

The girls LOVED it. I think I'm going to make it a new tradition each year.
