I just want to know if there are any groups of moms who get together to have a cup of coffee, go to lunch, see a movie, walk at the park, anything to share some time and have adult conversation verses baby and/or toddler talk! I would love to be able to get out of the house once in awhile!
Hi Jenny! A few months ago I joined active cleveland moms and dads and its been really great. There are lots of meet ups and play dates. There is pretty much something to do every day. Hope you join it's lots of fun!!!!

Hi Jenny! I belong to the Solon Early Childhood PTA. We are a fabulous group of people from Solon, Twinsburg, Hudson, Aurora, and surrounding areas that get together for many things! We have a coffee club, mom's outings, dad's outings, playgroups, baby-sitting co-op, and field trips - just to name a few. We are an organization that appeals to those who have children 0-5 years old, but of course the older ones are also included in things like alumni and the summer picnic pals that we have (and even some field trips during the school year). We would love to have you come and join us!!!!! Let me know if you need any more information!! Have a great day!

Hi Jenny!
I second the advice to join an Early Childhood PTA. Many of these groups are open to anyone, regardless of where you live. Check out LECPTA.com for Lakewood's. We have over 250 members and offer children's tours and parties, playgroups, adult socials, and book club just to name a few.
Another suggestion is MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS.org). It is a Christian based fellowship that addresses the special needs of preschooler moms. During the 2-hour meetings (usually held September thru April) the kids go to childcare within the church, so you can have a little adult time.
Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] for more information. When we moved to Ohio 3 years ago with an infant, I knew no one and these groups have been a true sanity saver!

Go to MOPS.org (Mothers of Preschoolers) and see if there is a chapter in your area! I love my MOPS group. There is usually childcare provided (or the meetings are at night). Good conversation, coffee, etc! Also check your local school district to see if there is an early childhood PTA group.
Hi Jenny!
There is also the Brecksville Broadview Heights Preschool Mother's Club - www.preschoolmothersclub.org However, you absolutely do not have to be a resident of either community to join. There are members from Rocky River, Bath, Akron, Parma, all over the Cleveland area. I joined the club when I first moved to the area this past year. It was a great relief to meet other women with children my age, but didn't feel like we HAD to talk about children. There are many activities, both for members only and those with families, that are planned throughout the year.
As a matter of fact, they are having a family night tonight from 6-8pm at the Kids Quarters at the Brecksville Community Center. There will be crafts, games, and food for kids and adults. The cost is $1 per person. Afterwards, the community center is showing "the Bee" movie in the parking lot - kind of like a drive in theater.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.
Good Luck
Kelly
Hi Jenny,
Contact your local school system, recreation center and tell them you are looking for "parenting groups of pre-school aged children". Almost every community in the greater Cleveland area has these type groups. They meet monthly with mom and kids, have guest speakers come in, take field trips...all age-appropriate for kids. Plus, you have the opportunity to not only meet other stay at home moms but can also sign up for individual small groups (3-5 moms and kids),that can meet weekly (bi-weekly, or however often you choose) at one another's homes to have coffee, talk, and allow for socialization/play time for the kids. There is also the advantage of sharing babysitting exchanges too. If you have difficulty finding such groups in your area, then post a notice at your local library that you wish to start a moms group. Joining our area preschool parenting group was one of the best things I ever did!
I wish I knew... I've been looking for moms groups and play groups in the berea area for an army spouse from my husbands company... Thus far, nothing.. If I find something I'll tell you though..

i actually started this group to find some mom friends in the area.
I have lived in two other states and was a member of MOMS Club International (MOMS stands for Mothers Offering Mothers Support) - you can go to www.MOMSclub.com and on the bottom click on "Chapter Links" - there are a bunch of clubs in different cities all over Ohio. They do age clustered play groups, moms nites, breakfast outings, field trips, etc. We are in a corporate apt now, but as soon as we get our permanent home, I am going to join one. Good luck!
I'm all for joining clubs so long as they don't have fees like http://www.momsclub.com/ find any good ones pass it on please.
Absolutely! Where are these groups?
