Lamaze classes?

I was talking to a friend and she is in search of an inexpensive birthing class (Lamaze?) that is offered within this month and that is more focused on coping with pain techniques than hospital information. Does anyone know or attended such a class that can point her in the right direction. I was surprised she was having trouble finding a class until I looked and found out that there isn't much out there unless you want to pay $$$! Any help would be appreciated!

I was very happy with the childbirth class offered at Crittenton Hospital. While they did go over some hospital-specific information, it was focused mostly on what to expect during labor and how to handle pain. I would recommend the class. On a plus, it was also a great way to bond with my hubby.

Also, there are some free seminars regarding specific options. I went to one at Whole Foods about hypobirthing. It was mostly just to get you to buy their class, but the seminar was informative, anyway. She could check out Natural Wellbeing magazine for classes.

Another option would be mom's groups where she could talk with other moms. Check Yahoo Groups.

I am not sure about this one either as I did Beaumont's... However, I only attended the first class~ we actually experienced what happened in the next class in person as our son made an early appearance! LOL~

I can say that Beaumont was very good about refunding our money for the class.

Can you check with a Doula? I am not sure if they offer this, but it may be worth a shot~

Jessica,
I was waiting to see your responses because I would love to find a class like this as well. If you get any other information, I would really appreciate it if you could pass it along to me.
Thanks!
