i had my air ducts cleaned in feb 09 and the company claimed to be EPA certified and they are not..also the tx state department of licensing and regulation have no listing for them...they opperate out of dallas.
they have emptied my debit card once and we got new card ..well last night they emptied it again for almost $1000 and i was told by the bank they had our account and routing number.
so my question is what can i do legally to get my money back i need to prove they are not even a legit company and they have preformed services falsely. ?
I had a problem with my debit card last month. On the claim form, there was a reference to contacting the police if I knew who may have use my card without being authorized (in my case, I did't). I would call your local police department and see if they have a fraud department to speak with.
I would also cancel your entire bank account and open up a whole new one - new routing number and everything.
Aleisha, sorry about thisa happening to you. First of all, I would contact the Bank, after a new card, and new numbers SHOULD have been different. The bank should have to repay you, plus contact BBB, and also the Tex, Attorney Generals office. Did you call for this co. to come out or did they call and offer their service over the phone?
This type of thieves also focus on seniors. My mom got taken twice, not exactly this way. Now I tell her do not talk to salesmen at the door, or to over the phone offers. I tell them If I wanted or needed this service, I would call someone but Never do business with anyone who approaches me .
Did you get a business card, are they listed in directory? What was their name so we can ALL spread the word to friends and family. My debit card is a Visa, and they do not hold me responsible for fraud . Check with the bank, not a teller, but the president, or assist. in charge. Good luck.
Call the police and file a report and give them the contact information you have for the company. Even if it changed, it is a starting place to look. I would also call the Dept. of Licensing and report the company. I know with Bank of America they have a "bill pay" account you can establish. It is used strictly to pay bills and companies. This way if someone tries to use it at an ATM, gas station, grocery store, mall, etc. It is flagged and will be declined. Show the bank your receipt and other material you received from the company, and you should be able to get something in writing from the Dept. of Licensing that states they are not licensed. Also, I would speak to the bank manager about why they only issued a new debit card and not new account numbers. That seems negligent on the bank's part and I would even switch banks.
