Brookfield Zoo at Halloween

Has anyone been to Brookfield zoo around Halloween time? We'd like to take our kids there this month, but if there is anything scarey or spooky, my almost 4 year old will freak out and never sleep alone in his bed again. We went through this last Halloween when we went to a pumpkin farm that had some really scarey stuff that we didnt know would be there. I dont want to chance it unless someone has been there and thinks its ok.

I am a member of Brookfield Zoo. We have not been to the Halloween stuff for quite a few years but I do remember it being very kid friendly. I think there are people dressed up like different animals versus scary monsters. Of course, you can always have someone that is visiting the zoo be a jerk and get in your kid's face. But I have found that the "mom" look stops them before they get close. The Zoo's site has more info on the activities and what is going on. It is a great source for info. brookfieldzoo.org will take you there.

We stopped in last year by accident & were sorry we hadn't planned ahead to bring the kids in costume. My guy was one then & no issues but then how alert are they? We didn't see the parade or anything, just walking around. It was cute. Check the website, as previous poster suggested. Call if you're really concerned but I think it's a nice activity for families. They know their audience and wouldn't want to alienate potential customers. Have fun!
