Every year we take at least one vacation. It is usually to a beach in Mexico, since we all love the beach and is a real "just relax" vacation.
This year I would like to visit a beach in the US and I do not have a clue where to start or think of.
I would like to know of the perfect place for family vacation in maybe Florida. I have only been to Orlando visiting Disney. I would love your input on a beautiful beach kid friendly anywhere in the States.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Michelle
The beaches in North and South Carolina are great.
Last summer MSN had an article on the best family beaches in the US. 2 of them I believe were in Florda. I think one was Panama City...Here are a few articles you can check out...

For babies our MOST favorite beach is the one at the Presidente in Cozumel- but since the hurricane they have rebuilt so nicely that we can no longer afford to go there! But that was all 3 of our kids' first trip- at 9 months and 15 months-and we went every year for 10 years.(And my husband and I had been going 15 years before that!) But since you don't want Mexico- How about Sanibel Island? Fun little island that you can bike ride around. Incredible shell collecting- something even a tiny one could do! Every morning we would walk outside and feel guilty walking on the beach cuz you are crushing thousands of tiny shells while picking up thousands more. We've also done Coronado Island outside of San Diego which was great fun. The island has a nice park for the kids and there is plenty of other stuff to do also.
I'm sure you will be overwhelmed with info- so many gorgeous beaches in the states. Good luck.
One of the best beaches in the US in my opinion is Destin Florida. We took the boys ages 6 and 2 couple of years ago and we all had a blast. I would love to go back again.

We took a family vacation to Panama City Beach last summer and loved it! We stayed at Aqua, but there are a number of condos in that area. Stay in the middle of the beach area, that is the nicer area.
Destin or Ft Walton Beaches are great. White sandy beaches and clear water.
I have been to daytona, orlando, various beaches in south carolina and north carolina and Destin is by far the prettiest....
My pick is Highway 30A. It includes Rosemary Beach, Seaside and other beatiful beaches. It's all about park your car and enjoy the vacation. You walk and ride your bike...there are restaurants, toy shops, candy shops, playgrounds. It's all about family.
One of the family friendly condos is Highpoint Resort. Its all good. We have found Destin to be a little too busy
My sister-in-law's family has been going to Destin, Florida w/her grandkids, from when they were quite young & my son-in-law's family goes to Ameila Island - off the coast of the Carolinas or Georgia. Those grandchildren have been going since infancy & are now 3 & 6.
Michelle,
My family is also a fan of Mexico - my husband and I (and my parents, our siblings, nieces, nephews, etc.) have traveled many, many beaches in Mexico.
I have found the Destin, Florida beaches to be most like Mexico. We've also been to Panama City, FL, Ft. Lauderdale (sp?), FL, the Keys, etc. We think Destin is most family friendly. They have great places to eat, great condos in various price ranges, lots of kid friendly activity (mini golf, arcades, water park, aquarium, amusement park, etc.) There are great places for the grown-ups as well.
We stayed at Jetty East (private condos) 2 summers ago and it was great. Have fun on your family beach vacation!!
