baby shower games

I am planning a baby shower for one of my family members and i need some good idea's for baby shower games. Does anyone have good idea.Thank you

A mult choice game about the mom/parents to be. For example:"When Mark found out Susie was pregnant, what was his reaction?" a. play video game, b. dance around, c. make a drink. This is fun with 8-10 questions.

Baby word scramble: have a sheet with baby related words scrambled up. rslotlre (stroller)

I always did a baby themed word scramble, a memory game, and a purse hunt. For the word scramble I would make a list of a whole bunch of baby related words and then I would scramble the letters (I did 15-20 words). I would print the scrambled versions in a list and give 5 minutes for people to unscramble and then the person who unscrambled the most correctly won a prize. For the memory game I would collect random things from my house and place them on a tray (e.g. bandaids, batteries, rubber duckie, flashlight, pencil, notebook). I would uncover the tray and walk around to each person letting them look at it first for about 10 seconds each. Then I would put the tray of items away and give them a timeframe to write down everything they could remember seeing on the tray. The person with the most accurate items would win a prize. For the purse hunt I would have a pre-made list of things women usually carry in their purse with a few obscure items. The women would have to scavenger hunt in their purse for the item and the woman that had the most items from the list actually in her purse won a prize (e.g. items: scissors, nail clippers, chapstick, a coupon, watch, cell phone, pen) you can be specific to narrow downt he winner (e.g. pink cell phone, red wallet). Hope these help! Have fun!

Hi

I threw a shower last year and had everyone play a game that I had never played before. It was really fun and I got a lot of complements on it. I made a game board on poster board with bunch of baby words on it (heart burn, girl, hospital bill, epidural) and then I had a bag of candy bars each one that went with a word. (Hot tamales - heart burn, baby ruth - girl, 100 grand - hospital bill, life savers - epidural). I would hold up one at a time and the first person to shout out the correct name won the candy bar. The candy bar is the prize. i am sure you can google "baby candy bar game" to get the whole list or send me a message and I can email it to you.

Have fun

I love bead ceremonies! Everyone picks a bead from a bowl and goes around giving the mother a good wish or blessing (no horror stories or advice!) for her birth and/or motherhood, and they're strung to make a necklace. I still have mine, and it's a precious memory.

We also had fun with a "guess when baby will arrive" game - everyone picked a date, and then when baby made an entrance, I emailed the shower participants to let them know who had won. Great fun!

I had a lot of fun at a baby shower where we made maternity outfits out of toilet paper, like the old toilet paper wedding dress game. We paired off into a model and a designer team, and each one got a balloon for a baby belly. At my baby shower I hired a woman to come and do henna tattoos. She started before the shower and did my belly, then stayed through the shower and gave little henna tattoos to my guests. It was a blast, and I love the pictures of my hennaed belly!!

My favorite shower game was guessing the future mom's waist line, NOT in inches :) They passed around a couple balls of yarn with scissors and everyone clipped off a piece that they thought would go around mom to be's tummy. It was so funny to watch everyone wrap yarn around their tummy and hold it out a ways and guess. I think the best part was the mom to be's grandma won! have fun!
(Obviously, this is not a good game if mom is over weight or very sensitive about her weight.)

We just had a shower for my little sister. It was a coed shower, so it was hard to find appropriate games. We ended up having a "chugging" contest out of bottles. They bottles were filled with punch, lemonade, water...whatever everyone is drinking. (Luvs bottles purchased at Dollar Family for $1, which was a great bottle at a great price.) We had prizes for 1, 2 & 3rd place. It made for some great photos of adults drinking out of bottles. Have fun!

The last shower I was at they had diapers each with different melted bits of candybar in them. We had to smell each one to guess the correct candy bar (Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, Hershey's, Mounds, Mr. Goodbar,Milk Duds, etc.). It was pretty fun. Each diaper was labeled with a number. Similarly, there were small jars of babyfood with labels covered or removed that we had to guess what they were. Another fun activity is getting plain white or colored onesies and bibs for guests to decorate with fabric markers or fabric paint. If you use onesies, make sure to put a piece of plastic or cardboard inside so the colors don't bleed through. Have fun!

the dice is by far the funnest game played at both of my baby showers (but people play at any gathering- one woman plays it every year at Christmas). Figure out how many people are going to be there. Buy little gifts so each person can get at least one. Picking out the gifts is where the fun starts. Do not buy the same type of gift - make them totally different and some should be funny. We went to World Market and bought tons of clearance items varying from candles, to journals, to cutting boards,to bath soaps, to sets of silverware to tea cups to a pair of really long hot pink rubber gloves (shower for a baby girl). We also bought wine from Trader Joe's. Then you wrap each gift. Get several pair of dice (the more you get the faster it goes and adds to the commedy factor) and put one pair in a pie tin or something similar.

To play the game: have everyone sit comfortably in a circle with the wrapped gifts in the middle. One person shakes a set of dice. If doubles are rolled the person who rolls doubles takes a gift out of the middle and passes the dice to the next person. If no double is rolled the dice just get passed. DO NOT OPEN THE GIFTS! When all of the gifts are out of the middle, every person opens their gifts at once and shows everyone what each gift is- no hiding gifts:) Now the real fun starts- each person put the gifts in front of where she is sitting and the rolling of the dice begins again. This time you set a timer. When a person gets doubles this time she gets to steal a gift from someone else. Nothing is off limits or can be 'stolen' too many times. What ever gifts a person has when the time goes off they get to keep so it is really fun to do a count down when it is getting close.

Have fun!

I don't know if your guest know each other very much, but my last shower we did no games and we all sat around and visited. I actually had two or three different groups of friends and I just hopped from one to the next visiting. It was real fun and it seemed all enjoyed it.

If you don't want to play organized group games, you can just set up tables/stations with little activities that guests can participate in if they want. Some examples from showers I have hosted:
1. Guess the number of cotton balls or q-tips in a cool jar (mom gets to keep for the nursery)
2. Baby items Price is Right: go to the store and buy a variety of baby items such as an outfit, set of baby food, rattle, blanket (set a dollar amount and buy what ever you can afford). Set the items out on a table and number them. On a piece of paper guests write down how much they think each item is and put in a jar. During the party, the host goes thru the papers and adds up each guests total. The person who gets closest tothe actual total cost of the items gets a door prize. (the mom gets the baby items as a gift from the shower hosts)
3. Gift bingo
4. Have guests stop at a greeter table when they arrive and fill out a blank thank you card envelope and put it in a vase. During the shower pull out an envelope and award a door prize to that person. Give the mom the envelopes so she has them ready to go after she takes home her gifts.

Have a great time!

Have each guest bring a baby photo - post on board and have the guests try to figure out who the pictures belong to. Person with most correct answer - wins.

Toilet paper around belly. Pass around a roll of toilet paper and each guest pull off the amount of toilet paper that would be needed to go around the mom-to-be's belly.

Goofy but fun.

Enjoy the celebration.

My sister just had a baby shower one of her games was guess the baby food.
She went to the store and got 3 different baby food(she picked applesauce, sweet potoes and peas). She took off the labels and marked them 1,2,3. Then she had sheets of paper that she labeled also so the guests could put their names on them and what they thought it was. Then they handed to her the person who got the most right or all of them right won a prize.
She also had guess how many beans. She put beans in a bottle and everyone had to guess how many there was in there.
Hope this helps!

Best website ever!!

I love Baby shower bingo!

The best baby shower games are first and foremost fun. After all, what’s the point of playing if it isn’t?

The best baby shower game i played & enjoyed the most was on my friends baby shower , the game for a co-ed shower is the baby bottle chug. Put your beverage of choice into baby bottles and the men have to chug! Women could do it too of course, but it’s a bit funnier with the guys.

Another game is “change the baby”…,This game is played by pairs. Each pair stands side by side with one person using only the right hand and the other person using only the left hand. Talk about having to work together.

This is a great way to find out how well people work as a team. It can be hilarious for the couple anticipating a baby’s arrival. Dress a baby doll in a diaper, preferably with pins, bodysuit, shirt, socks, and pants-you can even have them tie shoes if you’re up to a challenge.

Hope it helps
