I have been invited to a babies dedication. What should I expect and do you take a gift.
A baby's dedication is nothing like a baptizm. You should expect a traditional Christan church service. The child and parents will be called to the front of the church by the pastor, the pastor will introduce the family, say a prayer, dedicate the baby's life to God and maybe say a word or two about Christian parenting. There is usually no party afterward and a gift is not necessary.
I dedicated my son when he was about three years old.(little hard to hold in the arms.I commited to dedicating my son to the teachings of Jesus Christ. To raise him in a home that is Christ centered and to keep him involved in the church and the teachings in the bible. Very rewarding experience.
