I’m almost 72, and I’ve lived in Irvine since the very beginning of the first Village, in 1966. I raised 7 of my 8 children there. Now, one of my daughters and a grandson live with me and my second husband. My other children are scattered from Hawaii to Florida and also Lake Tahoe. I also have three stepchildren. Two of my daughters have died, one as a small child due to massive birth defects, and one with cancer at age 38. I have 6 grandchildren, 5 boys and a girl, with another on the way (they decided against knowing the sex ahead of time – the old-fashioned way!). I own a business and go to work every day. My business is architectural graphics, and we specialize in signs for visually impaired people. I’m a consultant on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
