Telling husband we are expecting #2

HI,

I am looking for a fun way to tell my husband we are expecting #2. Last time I made a shirt for my son to wear that said "Big Brother" . Unfortunately we ended up having a miscarraige so would like another cute way to tell him. Thanks so much for your help!

Julie

congratulations!! maybe since it is mother's day you could give him a big hug and say "thank you so much for the best mother's day present in the world!" best wishes for a healthy pregnancy :)

When is your time frame? I painted a mug for husband at a Paint Your Own Pottery places and put Dad on the outside and Baby at the bottom so that he would see it when he finished his coffee. :)

Make cupcakes, and cover half of them with pink frosting and half with blue frosting... Whichever color he picks to eat first say "Oh, I guess we'll be having a boy/girl." Haha

One of my friends did that. It was really cute.

I hope you get some really great suggestions!
I was in such shock when I got pregnant there was no keeping it a secret.
They said I couldn't get pregnant, but surprise, surprise.
Literally.
I have two beautiful healthy children.
Sad to say, I just wasn't very creative about telling my husband.

I like Michelle's idea though.

I just want to say congratulations and I wish you a very happy, healthy pregnancy.
Many blessings!

I got my husband a gift bag, when he opened it expecting candy or tools he found a baby bottle with a note that said "you will be needing this Daddy". He cried.

Wow I love th mug idea! that's very creative will keep it in mind for #3 if it ever comes to that,
OMG congrats on being prego!!! You've gotten excellent suggestions, I'll tell you what I did to announce our youngest child to my MIL, I couldn't surprise my husband though I was acting so silly he knew right away darn it!
I went to the store and bought a baby picture frame, there are so many to choose from, I chose a pink one shaped as a baby bootie instead of the picture I printed a little card that read : Coming in May 2009!!!
she was soooo surprised, she loved it. My baby girl up being born on April and she still has the little card that says coming in May! LOL so my daughter can see it when she is older.

make him dinner with "baby" stuff. Not baby food, but things like baby carrots, baby corn, baby back ribs and ask him if he notices the theme

You probably don't have time for this (unless you're REALLY good at being patient) but you could go to a paint-your-own pottery place and make a plate or bowl that says "baby on board" or something of the sort and then serve pasta or soup that would cover it up so as he eats he starts to see the message. Or in the bottom of a mug to have coffee...whatever.

OH! you could do this quickly! Get a plain white mug and write on the side "WE'RE" with a arrow pointing to the bottom (not inside), and "EXPECTING" on the bottom. Sit across from him and see if he notices. Is he observant? If not, maybe a prompt like "see my new mug?" would be enough. Just make sure it's written the right way so he can read it:)

Is your son old enough to repeat something? You could just have him tell daddy that he's going to be a big brother.

Wrap up a little box with a + test inside.

Take a + test. Ask him if he's pregnant. When he says "no" hand him the test and say "Oh, then this must be mine."

I hope you'll update and tell us what you end up doing! Congrats on your pregnancy. I hope it passes uneventfully:)

I gift wrapped baby booties and took him out to eat. He had really been wanting this watch, and I had told him we couldn't afford it. I handed him the present at the table, and he kept saying, "It's the watch, I know it." I told him to open the gift. He opened it and had this really puzzled look on his face, then the expression he had was priceless, when he figured it out!

I handed my oldest the positive pregnancy test and had her give it to my husband. He kept brushing her off saying "not right now, daddy will look at it in a minute." Then he finally saw it and said "is this for real?!" HAHAHA! I was right behind my daughter with the video camera and captured it all. Priceless! We told my family by making a shirt in kind of a crossword puzzle. down the middle it said "sister" the word "big" had the i in sister, "to" was off of the "t" and "be" ended with the "e" in sister. It was fun to see how long it took people to realize what her shirt said.
Good luck and CONGRATS!

With my 2nd I put a bun in the oven and turned on the oven light so it would be visible. I thought my husband would say, "Why is there a piece of bread in the oven?" but he actually came down and said, "Honey, why is there a bun in the oven?" totally clueless! It was really cute. Good luck and congratulations!

Make a special dinner for your husband with 2 of everything. 2 thinly sliced chicken breasts, 2 small baked potatoes, 2 different vegetables, 2 brownies for dessert.

First of all congratulations! I hope you have an uneventful prenancy. I just recently told my husband that we were having number two by setting up a scavenger hunt for him and my daughter. It consisted of two to four line clues to where the next clue was located. He thought they were just doing a fun activity together and at the end I had the back pack he used as his man diaper bag and a week by week book marked to the week I was at. Good luck

Same thing happened to us. We had bought a cute book that was I'm the big brother and then had our son give it to grandma to read to him. It was so cute when they read it and realized- same idea as tshirt. We had a m/c also. Then 3 mo later got preggo again- he walked in a just knew from the look on my face and the fact that I had to leave for work in 5 min and told him to get off the phone lol Congrats! You could make a cake or something.

write down on a tee shirt:CAUTION! BABY ON BOARD! with a yellow caution sign around it. it's cute
