My son will be ready for kinder this coming year and I don't know what to do about after school care. He's currently in preschool that offers a full day program through elementary but I'd like to look at other schools as well. I'm having a hard time finding an after school program in my area. The schools I've looked into only have after care for 1st grade and up. I work full time. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Hi Monique,
A few schools in the area have CDCs (Child Development Centers) at the schools themselves. Also, some have YMCA programs at the school. Lastly, there are Kindercares and Amer-Ed daycare centers that will pick up your child at the school and take him back to the facility.
Our school has the afterschool program for 1-6 but they also have the CDC which is a preschool on the school grounds. They take kids after school and will pick them up from the classroom.
I would check with the school and find out what they do for other kinder parents.

Sierra School in Santa Clara is a good private school and has after school care too.
My son goes to Adventure Time. They are before and after and vacation care. They are on many school properties. My son is at Warwick in Fremont. But I believe they are all over. Check out their website.
Well you don*t say where you live but I know they have a wonderful after school program in Linda Vista school called Kadango and kids go there after school until 6 PM.. This is in the Alum Rock school area and that is in San Jose,, Good luck
