I am interested in starting my little man at Montessori this February when he will be a year old. I need a two day a week program to help with childcare while I am at class/doing school work. I like the Montessori philosophy, but am unfamiliar with any in the Allen area. Suggestions?! Thanks!
Hi Jane, There are several new montessori's that have opened up recently. In September, I toured The Montessori School at StarCreek, and wanted to start my little guy immediately! (We are keeping him in home care for a bit longer, he is 18 months now.)
Google for the schools, and make appts to tour them. Depending on where you are in Allen, McKinney may be an option for you too.
Good morning, Jane,
There is Brookhaven Montessori in Allen on Jupiter just south of Main St. Their number is 972-359-9696. You might want to check them out. They have been there for many years, so they must be successful at what they do.
Good luck with your little guy!

May I suggest Watters Montessori on Bossy Boots Dr. It is off of Exchange.
We LOVE it. Our daughter has been going there for 1 1/2 and we could not be happier. They have an infant room as well as transition rooms. The staff is loving, the director is wonderful and the receptionist Angie is really sweet. It is very quiet and well run.
Our daughter will be 4 tomorrow and looks forward to school each day. She loves her friends, teachers and the other parents. Good luck on your quest to find a perfect fit. The only regret we have is that we didn't find this place sooner.
There is one on Hedgecoxe btw Alma & Custer that my little guy will be going to next year, but they don't take little ones until they are 18 months. I don't know if this is a blanket policy for Montessori, or just specific to this school so you may want to look into that first. :)
I highly recommend Montessori Children's House off Hedgecoxe between Alma and Custer.
I currently have a 4 year old attending and my almost 9 year attendend for 3 years before Kindergarten. They do not take children prior to 18 months, but the school is great. Make sure to take a tour and get some other parents input.
Try Pebblecreek Montessori. They are an established school that just moved to Allen in order to expand. www.pebblecreekmontessori.org
