We take are boxer who is 11mths. old to Animal Medical Center at 8343 Skokie Blvd. Skokie, Il. 60077 Phone number (847) 673-2616. We love the doctors there, they are great.
Riser animal hospital on Touhy near central. 847 673 2520 Dr.Baukart is good as well as Dr. Johnson(female) both of our dogs went there as well as a parakeet... we had to put our big boy down last summer and they were very very compassionate.
I live in the Portage Park area and have used Ace Animal Hospital for 5 years. I recently changed to Niles Animal Hospital because I was impressed with their knowledge & service. They helped me find a natural solution for my terrier's allergy.

Milwaukee Animal Hospital. On Milwaukee Avenue between Addison & Belmont. Very reasonable, nice doctor.
Violet,
We take our dog to the Portage Park Animal Hospital. It is on Irving Park Rd. directly across the street from the actual Portage Park. They have been really great but can be a little expensive if you let them talk you into extras. There number is 773-725-0260. I would never go to a Banfield out of Pet Smart. My sister and I have had problems with them and they seem to have no clue what they are doing. A little extra expense is worth it. Give Portage Park a try.
Dear Violet:
It's not in the area you specified, but my vet clinic, I think, is quite good and not as expensive as some. It's the Uptown Animal Hospital at 5545 N. Clark Street, 60640, and the phone is 773-561-0734. They are there from around 8 AM to 6 PM pretty much and half days on Saturdays as well as half days on Wednesdays.Good luck.
Sharon
