I read an interesting article in Parent magazine recently about generation Beta (born between 2025-2039), the generation that I think would be my near future grandchildren. It was pretty interesting about what people predict the world will be like in say 30 years. Anyway, I started thinking about what I might predict for the world and some good and some bad “predictions” came to mind. I thought this might be a fun topic for mamapedia users to think about and offer their thoughts and why. So I’ll start and I decided to focus on something that would go in my “good” bucket. I predict that generation Beta will be very environmentally aware and that wanting to work towards a healthy earth and environment will not longer be controversial. It will be as accepted and non controversial as not littering.
So to bring about good things for our generation Beta we have to start a conversation about it. Please join this conversation and predict good things for my grandchildren’s world.

Hi @zippygranny. So I really like the idea of posing a thoughtful question for us to think about and I think you are right that starting a conversation is a way to bring about change. So my prediction or wish for Beta is that they will go back to wanting to connect with people in person instead of online which is counter to what is predicted if I found the right article. @zippygranny You know, if I had to guess, I’d say Generation Beta will probably be pretty resourceful. They’re growing up in a time when everything’s moving faster—technology, big changes in the world, all of it. I think they’ll get really good at adapting to that. Maybe they’ll even take all this tech and innovation and use it to make life a little simpler—kind of like planting a garden instead of running to the store for everything. They’ll be practical like that.
But I think they’ll care a lot about relationships, too. It seems like the more connected the world gets online, the more people crave something real, you know? So, I can see this generation putting value on things like family traditions, building strong communities, or just being present with each other—finding that balance between the digital and the personal.
