Hi all,
For our 10-year anniversary, we're looking for somewhere with pretty beaches, and we'd love all-inclusive (but we don't drink much and don't like places that are too commerical or "smooth"...). We're looking to spend $800-1200 for 4-5 nights, leaving from Newark NJ area.
Anywhere you'd recommend (or not)... any good websites to search on? I keep tying to search for deals, but unless I know specifically what date and specifically what resort, I can't find anything. How does one search with flexible dates? This may win the "impossible" award... do I need a travel agent?
My husband and I went to Montigo Bay (sp?) in Jamaica for our honeymoon. It was a Sandles resort which is all-inclusive (except for some excursions) and had a great time with no complaints. There is a lot to do and there is a shuttle that goes to the other sandles resorts so you can try entertainment/restaurants at the other places. Our trip from CA cost about $5,000 including airfair and a private beach suite - there were less expensive rooms - we were there a full week.
Barbados!
My husband and I went on a budget of $1500.00 in October. 4 days - It was lovely. There are alot of excursions so save your money ahead of time. The island is peaceful, beautiful, you can drink the water and the people where very helpful. You can actually leave the resort - it is very safe. My husband who is soooo picky enjoyed it very much and actually said he would go back. Woo hoo!! We stayed at Amaryllis Resort - all inclusive the food was ok. Rustic! The Hilton is down the street in walking distance from Amaryllis beautiful!!! But I am sure much more expensive. Tell me what you decided.. Good luck and Have fun!
