My son is about to turn 2, and we would love to get him a tricycle for his Birthday. When I began my search I was surprised to find out how many brands/styles there are. Any advice on a quality (durable) tricycle?
He's still pretty young--just make sure he can reach the pedals of whichever you choose! Maybe take him to the store to try them out. I think Radio Flyer has a little foldable one that would probably be the right size. Good luck!
We just bought this tricycle for our son and I have to say it is super durable and heavy! It will not tip over easily and according to the reviews and website information, it can handle up to 300 lbs.
The unfortunate part is that it is pricey!

Radio Flyer makes an excellent, low-riding tricycle that's almost impossible to tip, is heavy duty, and great for this age group. It also has an adjustable seat that moves back as your child grows.
We have a radio flyer that included the handle for the adult to push and steer. We love it. My son has had it since his second b-day and is now an expert, but I can still take control if I need to steer him to safety!
kettler all the way!
Very sturdy, has a handle, air tires, basket in back, belt, etc....
a littler pricey but welll worth it
I just went through this with 2 of my triplets who are smaller. I bought the ones at Walmart that fold. I'd seen them for years and thought, "folding tricycles?" but after buying them, they are very sturdy and perfect to ride. There's red ones and then pink/purples ones for the girls. I got one of each. I thought they'd be too small but no. They save space and you can adjust the seat a bit with the bolt. We love them! Don't keep them out in the rain though as they are metal. They have streamers on the handles too which are fun and a little "trunk" in the back to put little cars or something. My Emma put her sippy cup in there, and a Barbie once, lol.

we like the radio flyer...GREAT.
Hi Heidi,
I forget the name, but we got a very sturdy, all metal, tricycle with a removable handle on the back.
They come in different styles, with basket, etc.
We loved it. My youngest said he was going to save it for his kids.

We had originally gotten my son the twist trike, but it was too big. We ended up with the Radio Flyer Ready to Ride trike. It is awesome! It folds in half to take it anywhere with you. My son loves it still... even though he's ready for the 2 wheel now. Good luck
My parents just got my niece on for her second birthday this month. They bought a Radio Flyer. It has an adjustable seat that moves forword and back. The Tricycle foldes up and the seat has a higher back to it so she does not fall off. It also has removable storage on the bottom/back. She seems to love it. she can get on and off without it tipping over.
My son will be 2 in May, he has a radio flyer tricycle. It was like $40. He lives it! And, yes he can reach the pedals.
We bought our son the Radio Flyer tricycle with the removeable handle for parents to push the bike and we love it. It is very sturdy and durable especially for boys:) We got ours at Target. Hope that is helpful.
We got our son a Radio Flyer from Walmart. It was only $30 and he loves it do death. We haven't had any problems with it as of yet. It is made of mostly plastic.

We bought the Radio Flyer tricylce w/ the removable handle for our 2 yr old. We love it. It's light weight so it's not hard to push and you can help control the steering.
We bought it at Toys R Us at Christmas.
Toys R us has a great tricycle and when not in use, it folds up for easy storage. I got mine on sale for about $30.00
I like many others have the radio flyer with removable handle. We love it. My son is 3 1/2 and still rides it. And it was simple to put together.
